Additional units responded and helped officers follow the suspect to the 400 block of Hamilton Boulevard around 12:07 a.m. Wednesday.

“The suspect produced a firearm and an officer-involved shooting occurred,” the Sheriff’s Department stated in the news release.

The unidentified suspect was transported via ambulance to Pomona Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No officers were injured in the incident and a firearm was recovered at the scene, law enforcement said.

Video from the scene showed a four-door sedan stopped near a curb with multiple evidence markers around it.

It was unclear if the vehicle played any role in the incident.
