Suspect at large after fallen motorcyclist fatally run over in Los Angeles

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a motorcyclist was run over and killed in Los Angeles.

The motorcyclist was only identified as a 49-year-old man by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The crash happened on May 18 at the busy intersection of South Avenue 20 and North Broadway in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood at around 7:40 a.m.

A suspect driving a Ford pickup truck ran a red light at the intersection, causing the motorcyclist to fall off his bike and onto the roadway, police said.

The suspect did not stop and continued speeding away. Seconds later, an oncoming box truck ran over the victim’s body, authorities said.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
