New Trader Joe’s to open in Inland Empire

A new Trader Joe’s will soon open its doors in the Inland Empire, giving shoppers the chance to purchase the chain’s unique treats, healthcare products and famed 23-cent bananas.

The new TJ’s will open June 28 in Murrieta at 40388 Murrieta Hot Springs Road.

Trader Joe’s crew members will lead a special grand opening event, complete with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, when the new 11,455-square-foot store officially opens.

It’s the first Trader Joe’s to open in Murrieta and the 191st store in the state of California, officials said.

“Inside this neighborhood grocery store, customers will find outstanding value in the form of the best quality products at the best everyday prices and friendly Crew Members,” a release from Trader Joe’s states.

In addition to welcoming shoppers, the Murrieta store is also hiring and is aiming to employ local residents to join its crew.

The store will officially open its doors to shoppers at 9 a.m. and will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The grocery store chain says the Murrieta location will be participating in the company’s Neighborhood Shares Program, which donate 100% of unsold products that are still fit for consumption to local community organizations, including food banks and recovery programs.

Trader Joe’s began operations in Los Angeles nearly 60 years ago, and the company says it has since opened more than 500 stores in 42 states and Washington, D.C.

Earlier this month, the company announced it would be opening several new stores in Southern California, including in Sherman Oaks, South Pasadena, Ladera Ranch and Santee.
