Triple-digit temperatures are returning to Sacramento area — along with heat risk

Another heat wave could be creeping into the Sacramento area.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the return of triple-digit temperatures in the capital region starting on Friday.

The weather service said there will be a moderate heat risk from Thursday through Sunday.

“This level of heat affects most heat-sensitive groups, especially those without adequate hydration and/or cooling,” the agency said. “Consider shifting timing of outdoor activities to avoid the hottest part of the day.”

What’s in the weather forecast for Sacramento?

According to the weather service’s seven-day forecast, Sacramento will see high temperatures in the 90s and light afternoon winds on Wednesday and Thursday.

The highs will reach around 94 and 99 degrees, respectively.

The low for Wednesday is expected to be around 61 degrees, and Thursday’s low will be near 64.

Temperatures will begin soaring in the Sacramento area Friday.

The weather service forecast a high near 102 degrees on Friday with a low near 69.

Saturday’s high will be near 100 with a low around 66.

On Sunday, the temperature is expected to reach around 101 degrees. It’ll dip to about 68 at night.

The heat will continue into next week, the weather service said, with highs on Monday and Tuesday teetering toward 104 and 105, respectively.

The best way to avoid Sacramento’s relentless heat is to spend time inside air-conditioned spaces and staying hydrated, according to experts.
