  • Trump says he's never considered Jamie Dimon for the role of Treasury Secretary in his cabinet.

  • Tell that to Trump.

  • The GOP nominee said he'd consider the JPMorgan Chase CEO just a month ago.

Donald Trump says he has no idea who suggested JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon for the role of his Treasury Secretary.

It was Trump himself who brought it up just a month ago.

In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump wrote, "I don't know who said it, or where it came from, perhaps the Radical Left, but I never discussed, or thought of, Jamie Dimon or Larry Fink for Secretary of the Treasury."

But Trump told Bloomberg Businessweek in an interview — which was conducted on June 25 and published last week — that he would consider Dimon for the role in his cabinet.

"We had a great meeting, Jamie Dimon was there. I have a lot of respect for Jamie Dimon," Trump told the outlet, speaking about a meeting he had with a bunch of CEOs, which he called a "lovefest."

And when asked if he had his eyes on Dimon for the position, Trump responded, "He is somebody that I would consider, sure."

The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

JPMorgan Chase declined to comment on Dimon's behalf.

Trump hasn't always been so keen on Dimon though. In a November Truth Social post, Trump called Dimon a "highly overrated globalist" and criticized Dimon's support for his Republican opponent at the time, Nikki Haley.

"I've never been a big Jamie Dimon fan, but had to live with this guy when he came begging to the White House," Trump's post continued. "I guess I don't have to live with him anymore, and that's a really good thing!"

But Trump may have changed his tune about Dimon after the CEO praised the former president in January this year, saying he was "kind of right" about NATO and immigration.

Based on Trump's Truth on Tuesday, it appears he's changed his mind about Dimon once again.

As for BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, a New York Post columnist wrote over the weekend that he was "told" Trump may prefer Fink over Dimon for the Treasury Secretary position. It's not clear where the columnist heard that.

A representative for Fink declined to comment to BI.
