Vehicle fire causes Florida Turnpike lane closures in Broward, rush hour traffic jams
A large traffic jam continues to grow on Florida’s Turnpike in Broward County during Tuesday’s afternoon rush hour as firefighters work on a vehicle fire that’s caused all southbound lanes between Commercial Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard to be closed.
Authorities briefly opened one lane to allow southbound traffic through. As of 4:20 p.m., the lane was closed again, traffic cameras showed.

Fire Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol are blocking the remaining three lanes as they work to put out what appears to be a bus on fire.
To avoid the blockage, commuters should use U.S. 441, Interstate 95 or University Drive.
This is a developing story.
