WATCH: Crews soak garbage pile in DC to put out garbage truck fire

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Members of DC Fire and EMS were on the scene of a garbage truck fire in Northwest Thursday, soaking the contents of the truck which were in a pile on the roadway.

The location of the fire was MacArthur Boulevard NW.

DC Fire and EMS said a the driver and technicians tried to put out the fire with dry chemicals before driving to get help from Engine 29/Truck 5 crews.

The firefighters moved the garbage truck and dumped its contents to find and put out the fire.
