Woman remains outstanding after fleeing scene of deadly crash in downtown L.A.

Authorities are still searching for a woman who fled the scene of a deadly crash in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were first called to the intersection of Pico Boulevard and San Pedro Street shortly after 6 a.m. on reports of a traffic collision.

“The vehicle was driving westbound on Pico when the driver lost control and crashed,” an LAPD spokesperson confirmed to KTLA. “The driver fled on foot and is still outstanding.”

The driver was only identified as a 21-year-old woman.

At least one other person was inside the vehicle at the time; a 26-year-old who was sitting in the rear of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, police stated.
