Woman sexually assaulted during hot prowl residential burglary spree in Los Angeles

Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department are investigating multiple hot prowl residential burglaries in the East Hollywood and Silver Lake neighborhoods.

According to a community alert issued by the LAPD’s Northeast Area division, the break-ins occurred early Friday morning.

“We have experienced a series of residential burglaries in the last 24 hours, one of which led to an assault of a female victim,” LAPD said on X, with Central Bureau Assistant Commanding Operations Officer Lillian. L Carranza confirming that the sexual assault suspect attacked the victim in her bedroom while she slept.

Although the exact times and locations of the burglaries and assault were not immediately disclosed, reports from the Citizen App indicate that two burglaries were reported on the same block of Manzanita Street near Fountain Avenue.
