    Newsweek's Evan Thomas Second Mainstream Journalist to Savage the President

    If Mark Halperin's calling President Barack Obama a rude name on MSNBC has not proof enough that some in the mainstream media have turned on him, Evan Thomas of Newsweek proved it again on an episode of "Inside Washington."

    When the panel was asked about President Obama's now infamous news conference when he tried to set up a war between children and corporate jets, Thomas, no right winger, was blunt and to the point, according to the Daily Caller.

    "'Yeah, because it's happened before -- Obama has got to be President of the United States,' Thomas said. 'He has to be two things. He has to make a public case of how bad is this, because he is not doing that. He's not being honest about just how bad this is going to be -- no, he was partisan. He was God [bleep] Democrat! He was just, you know -- being a party guy. I applaud the energy but it wasn't getting me anywhere. He has got to rise above that and then in private, in private -- he's got to make a deal.'"

    Now there are two examples of the mainstream media who have not only publicly admonished the president but have done so angrily and profanely. It is a testimony to the awful situation that United States finds itself in, with an immense public debt that threatens to swallow the American economy, coupled with a political impasse with Republicans and Democrats playing a game of chicken, with the future of the country at hazard.

    President Obama, no doubt, wanted to play the class warfare card to try to get a negotiating advantage on the Republicans in order to force concessions on them about raising taxes. Republicans and some Democrats are standing firm on the matter. There will be no tax increases in whatever deficit reduction package is agreed to. The economy is too fragile for tax increases and they are a bad idea anyway.

    The question now arises, with the class warfare gambit fizzling, how will President Obama climb down from his position? Also, will he do so before it is too late? Not only the future of the United States, but of the world economic order hangs in the balance.

      if what Halperin said about 0baMao was 'savaging' him, what in the world would you call what the Left has said and continues to say about Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Reagan, Palin, Palin's children, Bachmann, Gingrich, etc???

      both instances you cite were HARDLY anything to get your panties in a twist, sister...aside from the profanity, which SUDDENLY becomes a Liberal concern; what they did in both instances was extremely rare for the 0baMao Cheering Section aka Mainstream Media-they 'spoke truth to power'
