NFL-Commissioner Roger Goodell earned $35 million in 2013

Feb 13 (Reuters) - National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell earned $35 million in 2013, according to tax information supplied by the league. The figure, which included salary, bonus and pension compensation, is in line with his 2012 income of $44.2 million, which included $9 million in deferred compensation. The NFL compensation committee has yet to set Goodell's pay for 2014. Goodell's 2013 earnings were more than all but one NFL player, according to Forbes. The magazine says Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan led player earnings with $43.8 million between June 2013 and June 2014. Goodell's salary is made public because the NFL files taxes as a non-profit body, and is thus compelled to report the salaries of its top executives.
