NFP Calls For Crack Down On IFP

The National Freedom Party (NFP) has accused the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) of misusing funds for their election campaign in three of the municipalities under its control. These include uMsinga, iNkandla and Ulundi.

According to NFP youth movement president SbusisoMncwabe, the party had learned the IFP hired and branded cars with the IFP colours and are using them for campaigning.

“We regard this as very serious and shocking, and we therefore call upon the office of the Auditor General, to immediately intervene and probe forensic investigations into these allegations,” said Mncwabe.

“We also call upon the Department of Co-operatve Governance and Traditional affairs to conduct immediate investigations.”

Mncwabe added that immediate action should be taken if anyone is found guilty of corruption.

“Heads must roll in these Municipalities and criminals must be arrested without delay, as the NFP we believe in clean governance and accountability,” he said.

Mncwabe also accused the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) of using state funds for election campaigns.

“The ANC and the DA are also using State Resources, working against our favour, and there should be a difference between electioneering, campaigning and delivering services to the people,” he said.

“We strongly believe that public funds are for service delivery to the public and not for political gains for political parties controlling them.”
