Dec 8 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Sunday's National Hockey League games. - - - Blackhawks 6, Panthers 2 The Blackhawks snapped a season-high three-game losing streak with a dominating win over the Florida Panthers (9-17-5) but they lost goalie Corey Crawford to a lower body injury in the process. Crawford, who came into the game leading NHL goalies with 17 wins, stopped a shot by Florida's Marcel Goc with 6:15 remaining in the first period and then fell flat on the ice after it appeared his right leg buckled under him. He was helped to the locker room and did not return. Chicago (21-6-5) replaced Crawford with rookie Antti Raanta, who stopped 29 of 31 shots the rest of the way as Florida saw their season-high. - - - Wild 3, Sharks 1 Zach Parise had a pair of goals and Mikko Koivu had another to supply the necessary offense for Minnesota to beat San Jose. Goaltender Josh Harding had 37 saves as he improved to 13-1-0 at home this season for the Wild (18-9-5). Minnesota rebounded from perhaps their worst game of the season on Friday in a lifeless 4-0 road loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. San Jose (19-6-5), who have now lost three in a row, out-shot Minnesota 38-13 but could not find the back of the net until less than two minutes remained. - - - Capitals 4, Rangers 1 Goaltender Philipp Grubauer made 40 saves in only his second National Hockey League start to lead the Washington Capitals to a win over the New York Rangers. The win was Grubauer's first in the NHL. Jason Chimera, Steve Oleksy, Mikhail Grabovski and Nate Schmidt scored for Washington (16-12-2), who have won two in a row. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist stopped 32 of 36 shots for New York (15-15-1), who lost consecutive games for the fifth time in the 2013-14 season. - - - Bruins 5, Maple Leafs 2 Carl Soderberg scored a goal and added an assist during a three-goal second period as the Boston Bruins defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs. Torey Krug, Kevan Miller, Jarome Iginla and Patrice Bergeron also scored for the Bruins (20-8-2), who won their second game in a row and their fourth in the past five games. Milan Lucic and David Krejci had two assists for Boston. Peter Holland had a goal and an assist while Jay McClement added a goal for the Maple Leafs (16-12-3), who had a two-game winning streak snapped. - - - Canucks 3, Avalanche 1 Ryan Kesler scored his 15th goal of the season and Mike Santorelli added two more to lead the Vancouver Canucks over the Colorado Avalanche. Santorelli, with his second two-goal game of the season, Chris Higgins and Kesler were the dominant trio on the night, as the Canucks used the third period to their advantage. Vancouver scored twice in the third and Jason Garrison assisted on Santorelli's second goal and has 10 points in his past eight games.
