Subban and right winger Brendan Gallagher each had a goal and an assist to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a win over the Detroit Red Wings. Montreal earned its sixth consecutive victory and improved its league-best record to 14-4-1. Left winger Brandon Prust and center Tomas Plekanec also scored for Montreal. Canadiens goaltender Dustin Tokarski made 28 saves. Center Riley Sheahan scored for Detroit (8-4-5). Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard stopped 15 shots. - - - Wild 4, Jets 3 (Overtime) Defenseman Marco Scandella scored at 1:01 of overtime and the Minnesota Wild survived a comeback by the Winnipeg Jets to earn a victory. Center Zach Parise scored two goals in his return and right winger Nino Niederreiter once in the first period for the Wild. Right winger Michael Frolik and left wingers Evander Kane and Andrew Ladd scored third-period goals for Winnipeg, bringing it back from a 3-0 deficit to force overtime. Minnesota improved to 10-7-0 while the Jets fell to 9-7-3. - - - Blackhawks 6, Stars 2 Patrick Kane scored the go-ahead goal and added two assists to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a win against the Dallas Stars. The Blackhawks (10-7-1) picked up their third win in the past four games and improved to 7-3-1 at home. Chicago broke open a 2-2 tie in the third period with a flurry of goals from Kane, center Jonathan Toews, left winger Kris Versteeg and left winger Brandon Saad. The Stars (6-8-4) lost their second consecutive game. - - - Sharks 2, Hurricanes 0 Troy Grosenick became the 22nd goalie in NHL history to record a shutout in his first start, stopping 45 shots as the San Jose Sharks beat the Carolina Hurricanes. Grosenick was recalled Wednesday after backup goalie Alex Stalock was placed on injured reserve. He got his first start after Antti Niemi played Saturday in Columbus. The Sharks (10-8-2) improved to 3-3 on their current seven-game road trip, while the Hurricanes (5-9-3) continued to be a team of streaks, losing their third straight. - - - Panthers 6, Ducks 2 Nick Bjugstad and Brad Boyes scored two goals each, leading the Florida Panthers to a commanding victory over Anaheim. Bjugstad added two assists, and Boyes had one, while Jonathan Huberdeau contributed a goal and an assist for Florida (5-4-5). The Ducks fell to 11-4-4 with the loss. - - - Coyotes 2, Oilers 1 Arizona, coming off a 5-0 victory in Vancouver, closed out their Western Canadian road swing with a win in Edmonton. Brandon Gormley scored in the first period for Arizona and Mikkel Boedker put the team ahead 2-0 in the third before the Coyotes (8-9-1) survived a furious Edmonton rally to preserve the victory. Taylor Hall scored at 14:10 in the third for the Oilers (6-10-2), who have now lost three in a row and have yet to beat a Western Conference team all season (0-8-1).
