Jan 17 (The Sports Xchange) - The St. Louis Blues activated forward Alexander Steen off injured reserve on Friday, and he is scheduled to be in the lineup for Saturday's home game against the Anaheim Ducks. Steen, the team's leading goal scorer, missed the past 11 games with a concussion. Steen, 29, has already tied his single-season career high with 24 goals. That total ties him for fifth in the NHL. He also has 14 assists and his 38 points in 35 games, ranking him second on the team in scoring to T.J. Oshie, who has 40 points. - - - Winnipeg Jets defenseman Grant Clitsome had season-ending back surgery on Thursday, the team announced. Clitsome last played on Dec. 17. He had 12 points and a minus-5 rating in 32 games this season. - - - The NHL fined Phoenix Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal $5,000 for high-sticking Vancouver Canucks forward David Booth during Thursday's game, the league announced Friday. The incident occurred at 15:55 of the third period. Hanzal was assessed a double-minor penalty for high-sticking on the play. - - - The Nashville Predators reassigned goaltender Marek Mazanec to the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL.
