    Nicole Richie & George Takei To Appear On The New Normal

    "The New Normal" will soon be graced a couple of familiar faces.

    Nicole Richie and original "Star Trek" actor George Takei will make appearances on the NBC sitcom.

    "Proud to announce Nicole Richie and the legendary George Takei are joining The New Normal family," series creator Ryan Murphy Tweeted on Friday.

    George also posted the news on his Facebook page on Saturday, writing, "tune in Tuesday evenings, friends."

    Nicole Tweeted, "Wooohoooo!!"

    A rep for Murphy told Entertainment Weekly both Richie and Takei will be playing themselves on the small screen comedy.

    "The New Normal," which stars Georgia King, Andrew Ranells, Justin Bartha and Ellen Barkin, airs on Thursdays at 9:30/8:30c on NBC.
