Nintendo's New 3DS XL Playable at PAX South This Week

Nintendo's recently revealed New Nintendo 3DS XL doesn't launch in the United States until February, but some fans can try out the new handheld this week during the first-ever PAX South in San Antonio, Texas.

The company announced Tuesday that the New Nintendo 3DS XL will be available to play on the PAX South show floor January 23-25. Games available to play include The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, both of which are also getting special edition bundles.

PAX South attendees can get their hands on the New Nintendo 3DS XL and try out its range of new features, including more buttons, better 3D, and faster processor.

Nintendo's booth at PAX South will also feature photo opportunities with a real-life replica of the Majora's Mask, and the company will also hand out paper versions of the mask to wear around the show. What's more, if you're dressed in a Zelda costume, you'll be able to cut lines.

Three games will be playable at Nintendo's booth: Majora's Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.

Nintendo also announced Tuesday that it will hold a a special "72-Hour Mask Challenge" for Majora's Mask 3D, tasking gamers with creating their own personalized masks. More details about this contest will be shared through the Nintendo of America Twitter account.
