This trend is expected to be similar to the transition from VHS to DVD, which was slower for fitness videos than mainstream media because consumers were slower to upgrade their workout technologies than their main entertainment consoles.
Currently, market share concentration is ranked as high, with the top four companies controlling a significant share of the industry. In the next five years, concentration is expected to lessen and the number of companies in the industry is expected to expand. As the numbers of companies and DVDs grow, competition is expected to escalate and slow revenue growth.
