    Norovirus sickens George Washington Univ. students

    WASHINGTON (AP) — Officials at George Washington University in Washington are alerting the campus that about 85 students have been sickened by the norovirus this week.

    University officials said in a statement Wednesday that norovirus was the cause of dozens of cases of gastrointestinal illness. Officials said students who live at the Foggy Bottom campus, the Mount Vernon campus and off campus were affected but that they could not find a common link.

    Students were advised to wash their hands frequently and disinfect surfaces. The school also said it would beef up cleaning of commonly used areas.

    Symptoms of norovirus include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The virus is usually not considered serious and most people recover in one or two days.

        it's clearly the nasty #$%$ stupid cracker virus. everybody knows yall are the nastiest rats on earth....spitting, kissing dogs and then kissing each other, coughing w/out covering your mouths, letting your animals eat from the same table and dinnerware as you and your familly, whoring, etc....i mean, can ya'll say mono? ugh.

      Yes, Fredboy, I had it too last year and you said it right.... you do want to die. I started throwing up with diarrhea at the same time every 15 minutes all night for about 17 hours. But it's not normal, it's excruciating and you think you are going to die. It was what I believe that hell would be. I don't ever, ever, ever , ever want to get it again. It's scary. One thing I did find out is that hand sanitizer DOES NOT kill it. This bacteria has a protective coating on the cells that protects it from hand sanitizer. You have to wash your hands with soap and water. Even then, it's EXTREMELY contagious, as it only takes a small number of it's bacteria for you to breath in, touch or eat food handled by someone who has it. Way less than any other virus.
