Norquist: Occupy movement ‘will be very helpful in 2012′ [VIDEO]
“The Occupy Wall Street,” said Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, “is a tremendous asset and it’s a movement that I think will be very helpful in the 2012 elections, and I think it’s a mistake to interfere with them continuing to annoy middle class Americans.”
He made the point during a meeting in Washington, D.C. with several “patriotic millionaires” last week — part of an effort by the pro-tax activists to convince anti-tax advocate Norquist that Congress needs to raise taxes on the wealthy.
Norquist was unconvinced and suggested that the millionaires make a donation to the Department of the Treasury, write a check to one of the “Tax Me More” funds or support the “Buffett Rule Act of 2011.”
