Pros
Helps you take notes with fewer taps: Do Note by IFTTT manages to pack in a cute, colorful interface a long list of recipes that allow you to take all kinds of notes faster. You can create a shared shopping list in Dropbox, append ideas to a weekly digest email for yourself, save short Evernotes on the fly, as well as ingeniously control Wi-Fi-capable home appliances by typing keywords.
Helps you stay connected: Much of the app's recipes are dedicated to email and social media functions, which make it easier for you to post on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, or WordPress, email quick notes, or share news with friends and followers. Used effectively, this app can make social media less of a time sink.
Entirely free: It's a pleasant surprise that such an ingenious app comes with no ads or paid upgrades.
Cons
Usefulness reduced by three-button limit: You are limited to choosing only up to three recipes, through which you can then swipe to find the one you need. There's no way to increase this limit, not even through an in-app purchase or paid upgrade.
Recipe creation could be improved: Creating your own recipes takes just a few taps and is easy, but because of the dependency of recipes on specific channels (such as a Google channel for Gmail recipes, which requires authentication) and the limited recipe support for some apps, your creativity is not the limit. There are things you can do with this app and things you can't.
No widgets: The lack of widgets means you have to launch the app each time before using its quick buttons.
Bottom Line
Do Note by IFTTT can help you take and share notes more effectively, stay connected to social media, and do lots of other cool things. It has plenty of limitations as well, but even so remains a great automation utility. If you want to take notes and share them quicker and more easily, then this app is for you.
