This undated picture shows Lieutenant Colonel Rupert Thorneloe, commanding officer of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, who was killed in Afghanistan this week. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has insisted Britain has the right strategy in Afghanistan after British military deaths surpassed the number of dead in the Iraq war.
