An artist's impression of a sauropod. 70 million-year-old footprints have been found in six locations in the Nelson region of New Zealand, the first evidence that dinosaurs roamed the country's South Island. It is believed that the footprints belonged to sauropods -- plant-eating dinosaurs which were among the largest animals to have lived.
