Isolina Ramirez reviews documents of dissidents who disappeared during the regime of late Gen. Augusto Pinochet from 1973 to 1990, in Santiago, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2008. The Reconstructing Memory archive will be made available to the public as part of UNESCO's Memory of the World program, an international registry of archive holdings and library collections. Ramirez's husband disappeared in 1976 during an eight-day campaign to capture the leadership of the Chilean Communist Party.
