Movie stars such as Robert De Niro (Raging Bull) and Hillary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) learned how to box there. Gym owner Bruce Silverglade said Gleason's, since opening in 1937, had trained 131 professional world champions and currently had two male and five women title-holders.
