North Korean leader Kim Jong-il returns a salute as he reviews a military parade in Pyongyang in this October 10, 2005 file photo, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the communist party. Kim fell seriously ill in April, sometimes losing consciousness at work and unable to rule on important policy matters, the Mainichi daily reported on Sept. 14, 2008, citing a 'reliable' Chinese source.
