Polar Bears
A life-sized ice sculpture of a hunting polar bear is seen at dusk as it starts to melt, in Trafalgar Square in London, Friday, Dec. 11, 2009. The sculpture will symbolise the plight of polar bears in the Arctic where melting ice is threatening their survival. The ice bear will melt over ten days. At left is Nelson's Column.
