A picture released by the Yemeni army media office in September 2009 shows armed Yemeni tribesmen, who have allegedly allied with government forces against Huthi rebels. Hussein al-Huthi, who went on to become the rebels' first leader, reinterpreted some of the Zaidis' religious texts in a way that gave vent to the frustration of the Zaidi tribes.
