FILE - In this Friday morning Nov. 19, 1999 file photo, Texas A&M students pray at the collapsed bonfire site early in College Station, Texas. The bonfire, which was under construction, collapsed Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, killing 11 students and a recent graduate. The most hallowed tradition in the eyes of many Aggies was bonfire, an annual event dating back to 1909 where students spent months building a 59-foot-high, wedding cake-like stack of more than 5,000 logs that was burned on the eve of A&M's football game against archrival Texas. Now as the campus prepares to commemorate the 10-year-anniversary of the collapse, discussion revolves not only on remembering the fallen Aggies but whether bonfire is still truly representative of A&M's values and goals.
