Rhonda (Roni-Sue) Kaye plucks a chocolate truffle from the shelf in her chocolate shop located in the Essex Street Market in New York, Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008. The market , which opened in 1940 in order to get pushcart vendors off the streets, is now home to specialty food shops like Roni-Sue's, along with fresh produce and meat vendors.
