A tractor removes mud and rocks in Verapaz, 71 km (41 miles) east of San Salvador November 10, 2009. Ida weakened to a tropical storm on Monday as it churned toward oil and gas facilities in the Gulf of Mexico and was forecast to hit the U.S. Gulf Coast early on Tuesday between Louisiana and Florida. At its earlier hurricane strength, Ida triggered floods and mudslides that killed 124 people in El Salvador.
