Ash rises from the gully of Mayon volcano at its continuing mild eruption as viewed from Bogna, Legazpi city, Albay province, about 500 kilometers southeast of Manila, Philippines, Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009. More than 47,000 people living within a 5-mile (8-kilometer) danger zone around the volcano are spending the Christmas holidays away from their homes after the volcano showed signs of increasing activity and possibly eruption.
