A government soldier walks at a refugee camp near Goz Beida, some 100 kilometres (62 miles) from the Sudanese border with Chad, in 2006. The Red Cross said Tuesday that several armed men had abducted a French staff member in eastern Chad, close to the border with Sudan and its war-ravaged Darfur region.
