FILE -- This is a feb. 9, 2006, file photo showing freestyle skier Jeremy Bloom of the United States smiling during a news conference at the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games, in Turin, Italy. Bloom has abandoned his comeback try, ending a bid to make the 2010 Olympic team so he can spend more time on his charity work. The 2002 and 2006 U.S. Olympian said on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, that he was retiring because 'the passion that I once had for sports has naturally transitioned into my new ventures.'
