NRA Member Makes Case Against Gun Control by Promising to Shoot People

Tactical Response CEO James Yeager made his best case against gun control (and inadvertently, the best case for it) on Wednesday by posting a video in which he promised to "start killing people" if President Obama uses executive orders to regulate guns. In the video, spotted by Raw Story, Yeager refers to Vice President Joe Biden saying his gun commission would consider both legislative options and executive action, news that the Drudge Report illustrated with photos of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. "Vice President Biden is asking the president to bypass Congress and use executive privilege — executive order to ban assault rifles and to impose stricter gun control," Yeager says. "Fuck that! I’m telling you that if that happens, it’s going to spark a civil war, and I’ll be glad to fire the first shot." He closed with more threats: "I’m not fucking putting up with this. I’m not letting my country be ruled by a dictator. I’m not letting anybody take my guns! If it goes one inch further, I’m going to start killing people."

Yeager's company Tactical Response sells firearms and offers weapons training. According to the bio he put on his company's website, Yeager once worked as a private security contractor in Iraq from June 2004 to May 2005. Before that, the bio says, Yeager was a police officer in the Big Sandy, Tennessee, police department, and briefly worked as a police chief "until a new Mayor fired him in May of 2000." He is no web video novice. He has been posting for them years. On January 3, he posted his thoughts on a possible assault weapons ban while standing in front of a scantily clad women and thanking Monster Energy Drink for a swag T-shirt. But on to guns: Yeager says an assault weapons ban would bring about a civil war, and one cannot merely claim that the federal government won't get one's guns if it shows up at one's home. "If you wait for them to come to your house, they'll start picking us off one at a time. If your whole plan is to resist by staying at home then that is no resistance at all," he says. He urges viewers to give money to the National Rifle Association's lobbying arm.
