    NY Giants fans shop till they drop

    NEW YORK (AP) — A day after the New York Giants scored their big win, Stu Miller and other die-hard fans streamed into a Times Square store Monday to scoop up championship merchandise in celebration.

    "It was a great win. You have to give them credit," the Ringoes, N.J., resident said while clutching three T-shirts and contemplating buying a Giants blanket and another shirt.

    "There's too much stuff to choose from," he said. "My wife is liable to kill me."

    Modell's manager Jamal Miller predicted that a huge foam glove with four extended fingers, one for each of the team's Super Bowl wins — 1986, 1990, 2007 and 2011 — would be a big hit at the ticker-tape parade New York City was hosting for the champs on Tuesday.

    The Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 Sunday night.

    There was no Patriots merchandise in the store.

    "It's all about the New York Giants," said the manager, adding that the merchandise was ordered weeks in advance.

    One item that was flying off display tables and hangars was a locker room T-shirt — the kind the Giants donned after their victory — for $21.99.

    Also hot were a team signature T-shirt and a blue roster shirt, both priced at $23.99.

    Barbara Hanley of Westbury, Long Island, picked up a pennant and two locker room T's for her daughter who now lives in Boston and had to watch the game with a group of Patriots fans.

    Hanley wasn't buying for herself though.

    "I'm a Jets fan," she said, "but I rooted for the Giants."

    Kenia Olivera, an advertising account executive from Ridgefield Park, N.J., snapped up three blue signature Ts, one for herself, one for her husband and one for her boss.

    "I love the color," she said.

    Many shoppers also were picking up a T-shirt that celebrated Victor Cruz's signature salsa dance. It featured an eight-step footprint diagram and the words: "Cha-Cha" and "The Red Feet Denotes Where Weight Is Placed."
