Obama reaffirmed revival of Pak-U.S. relations: White House official

Washington, May 25 (ANI): A White House official has said U.S. President Barack Obama has reaffirmed the reset of U.S.-Pakistan relations in a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari that took place on the sidelines of the NATO Summit on May 20-21. White House Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes said both countries want to see the NATO supply routes reopened, reports The Express Tribune. "We are committed to seeing it reopened," he said, adding that the U.S. has been respectful of the parliamentary review process in Pakistan. Rhodes said the brief trilateral meeting between the leaders of the U.S., Afghanistan and Pakistan focused on Afghanistan, and that they wanted Pakistan to be part of the discussion. He also said there is a need for better communication on the border, to ensure that incidents like Salala do not happen again. (ANI)
