    Obama to speak on the economy

    WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is to visit a state-of-the-art fire station in a Washington suburb on Friday.

    The president will speak about the economy at Fire Station No. 5 in Arlington, Va. in the late morning.

    He's expected to propose a new conservation program that would put veterans to work rebuilding trails, roads and levees on public lands. He's also expected to announce the administration will seek additional grant money for programs that allow local communities to hire more police officers and firefighters.

    The Arlington County Fire Department says Station No. 5 is the first in the region to feature individual accommodations to better serve the increasing number of female firefighters. It's also a "green building," with many energy-saving features.

    In the afternoon, Obama will attend a campaign event in Washington.

      I voted for Obama once. He is not able to lead in the absence of a super majority. He cites obstructionism and even if he is right he proves to lack the skill to over come the obvious. We need hope, unity, optimism he gives discord, blame, envy. He has lost the change to lead everyone by cleaving us apart and deserves what he gets. i Gave him a shot. Mitt is liberal enough for me.

        Was our credit rating upgraded? NDAA repealed? Did Nobama show up for court in Georgia? Did he actually accomplish anything today, or did he just tell us what he wanted us to do? Did actually enforce a law? Did he do anything, anything at all worthwhile? Did he salute a flag? Did he do anything but blame Bush and the republicans for his failures? Did he do anything more than whine about the wealthy paying more taxes? Did he do anything to motivate companies to hire folks? Did he apologize for Solyndra? Fast and Furious? Did he even attempt to connect with any other voters than the ones that he thinks he can buy? Did he do anything that might remotely resemble anything deserving of a Nobel Prize? Did he speak out against the racist DJ in Memphis?

        No? Well, then, we are gonna continue working to get his lame arse out of office.
