Just put all the government employee's on the same social security and health care benefits as the rest of us and it might be a start.

Lets see doubles the role of goverment and the deficit,Signs into law an Agency created by Frank and Dodd that has no oversight and an unlimited budget that puts the same corrupt crooks that created our financial mess back into positions of power. Is begging to get executive powers granted to downsize 2,000 goverment jobs after creating 120,000,And has the nerve to ask China to sign over another check for $1.4 trillion to increase deficit spending?

This is simply empty campaign rhetoric and NOTHING ELSE!!!!!!! Think about it for a minute.....if Obama were serious about shrinking government WHY did he just spend the last three years EXPANDING big government at UNPRECEDENTED levels??????

You have to love his speech.Government is too big and I want the authority to consolidate various government agencies and reduce the amount of politics small businesses etc., have to deal with. He failed to mention one ket point. He will not reduce the size of the government agency he plans to consolidate he will eliminate the “Government agencies NAME” but all the people will remain employed. Sounds like a terrific reduction in the size of government. He was so proud to announce a reduction in the amount of government contractor's but he failed to tell the people that the work performed by the contractors still has to be accomplished so those contractors are now federal employees that eventually will be receiving a Federal Pension. Please show me the savings! Several studies performed clearly showing that contractors cost the government less because there are no pensions involved. However, this administration instead wants to continue to grow government by using underhanded ways. This man is clearly doing his best to sell us out as a country. Don’t buy his crap try to think out of the box and actually pay attention to all the indictors you see daily.

Why has he waited until now to say he wants to do something about big government. This is about vote getting. He has no intention of shrinking the government. He may cut some people at the bottom of the ladder but no one in D C will have a worry.

The man who has spent about $6 trillion to make the government bigger, who has stuck his weinie into private businesses to do his bidding, who has made "recess" appointments when Congress wasn't IN recess, is suddenly looking to shrink the government? How gullible does he think we are...? He is currently begging for another $1.2 trillion. Hello? Not buying it...he's looking to expand his power alright, but not to "shrink" anything. He's looking to expand his powers. PERIOD.

The quickest way to start shrinking our Government is for this President to quit, and take himself and his family back home to Kenya.

1st: BHO doesn't need the additional power. Submit the ideas to congress and allow them to do thier jobs. This is what conservatives want.

2nd: He must be really down in his internal polls.

This from the man that will have added more to the national debt then all the presidents from Washington to Clinton combined.

Obama says: "The government we have is not the government we need," but yet, OBAMA created the mess by creating and appointment more of his cronies into power. Now, Obama is saying the government is NOT the government we need.

So if I understand this..... Obama politically moves his buddies / cronies into government positions, creating new positions...... and now, what he is going to do is cut other government positions, but keep his appointed buddies in office.

Sounds to me like he is trying to eliminate positions (other people) that might give him trouble or competition - Obama is trying to stack the odds in his favor. Why doesn't Obamabutt just get rid of he recently appointed buddies for starters? You know, those 31 people he appointed to office this past year........
