Obama urges students to file financial aid form

MIAMI (AP) — President Barack Obama says education is the best investment in America's future, and he's urging high school students to make sure they file for federal financial aid.

He says too many students lose out on millions of dollars in aid by not filing, and he is beginning a new initiative to help change that.

Obama traveled to a model Miami high school to announce that, beginning in the fall, the federal Education Department can begin working with states to identify students who have not filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

States can use the information to help schools and school districts work with those students.

After the event, Obama was headed with his wife and daughters for a weekend family vacation in Key Largo.
