MENTOR, Ohio (AP) — President Barack Obama says voters need to be able to trust their president because they can't predict what challenges he'll face in office.

Speaking to supporters in Ohio, Obama says a president must say what he means and mean what he says. And he says after four years in office, voters know what he believes.

The president is trying to draw a contrast with challenger Mitt Romney, saying the Republican nominee has been changing his positions to make them more politically appealing.

Obama spoke to more than 4,000 people at a high school gymnasium.
