SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Documents show the wife of a Utah police officer who killed her, their two children, his mother-in-law and then himself had sent him text messages threatening to leave him for drugging and raping her.
A Spanish Fork Police report shows Joshua Boren's therapist told authorities that Boren drugged his wife and videotaped himself sexually assaulting her on more than one occasion.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1oC8lWG) Boren and his wife exchanged heated text messages the night and morning before the January killings. In them, Kelly Boren confronted husband about raping her and threatened to take away the children.
The police report also says Joshua Boren was sexually abused as a child and struggled with drug addiction.
