Officer questions crying in shoe stabbing case
HOUSTON (AP) — A police officer has told jurors he questioned whether a woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend with her stiletto heel was truly crying in the moments after he arrived at the bloody crime scene in Houston.
Ana Trujillo (troo-HEE'-yoh) is charged with murder in the death of 59-year-old Alf Stefan Andersson. Investigators say Trujillo struck him at least 25 times in the face with her heel during an argument at his condominium last June.
Trujillo's attorney told jurors his client was defending herself from Andersson.
In a recording of the 911 call Trujillo made and which was played in court Tuesday, she can be heard crying, telling the operator Andersson was beating her.
But Houston police officer Ashton Bowie later Tuesday testified he thought Trujillo was crying "crocodile tears."
