TRIPOLI, Libya - Two senior officials say Libya's interim ruling council has fired the Cabinet, citing incompetence.
National Transitional Council official Fathi Baja told Associated Press on Thursday that 65 members of the NTC passed a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Abdurrahim el-Keib.
It's the latest blow to Libya, struggling to reorganize after the overthrow of longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
The move throws into question the country's ability to hold its first national election in June.
El-Keib assumed his post in November, a month after the end of a civil war that toppled Gadhafi's regime.
Another senior official, Moussa al-Kouni, confirmed the vote but said the Wednesday decision was not made public because of the council's failure to agree on a new Cabinet.
El-Keib accused NTC of hindering his government's work.
