Bosses are believed to have told the X Factor hosts that they aren’t to read any not so nice reports and tweets about themselves while the show is on in the hopes of keeping their spirits high.

It’s believed that Simon Cowell feels they are getting ‘distracted’ after reading too much online.

Unlike the judges who often tweet during the show, it’s believed that Simon is keen to keep Olly and Caroline away from social media during the ad breaks.

The decision comes after some viewers called for Olly Murs to be sacked after he managed to mistakenly reveal that a contestant had been sent home when the judges’ votes had actually taken the result to deadlock.

Plus, just last week Caroline posted a lengthy Twitter rant after having read some negative Twitter comments about her weight.

A source told The Mirror: “Cowell wants Olly and Caroline to focus on the task at hand. He told Olly he has his complete support, as he wants to boost his confidence.

“Reading negative comments is not going to do anything except make them feel more nervous, so he has told them to leave their phones until after the show.

“But judges Nick Grimshaw, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora are always tweeting about their acts, to get support.”
