One dead after two vehicles struck pedestrian on Columbus' Far East Side, police say
One person is dead following a hit-and-run collision where two vehicles struck a pedestrian and left the scene, Columbus police say.
The unidentified adult was crossing East Broad Street near Richmond Woods Drive at 12:59 a.m. outside of a marked crosswalk, according to a police report. An unknown westbound vehicle on East Broad Street struck the pedestrian, knocking them into a center turn lane.
A witness told police the pedestrian crawled into an eastbound lane, and a 2016-2018 Toyota struck them with the front driver’s side of the vehicle before leaving the scene, according to the police report.
Medics pronounced the person dead at 1:06 a.m.
Police did not identify the pedestrian.
