One person killed in RV camper fire in KCK over weekend

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Kansas City, Kansas, officials say one person died over the weekend after a fire in an RV camper.

A KCK Fire Department spokesperson said crews were called to the area of 1050 Locust Avenue around 1:45 p.m. Sunday. KCKFD said the RV camper was parked in front of a private business.

When firefighters arrived, the RV was fully involved.

Crews were told someone was inside, and the person died. The body was severely burned, according to a KCKFD spokesperson.

The victim has not been identified yet as the medical examiner will have to use DNA for positive identification.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
