- BWI "Be Fit Kids" Instructor Certification: four-hour course trains facilitators to lead, implement and instruct students from kindergarten through sixth grade in an outcome-based, results-oriented behavior modification program that empowers children and families to take responsibility for their health; ideal for educators and recreation staff members
“We’ve launched the BWI National Health Promotion Training Institute with innovative online certifications that make the implementation of workplace and school wellness programs cost-effective and convenient,” said Shawna Dosser, CEO and president of BWI Health Promotions, of which the training institute is a subsidiary. The outcome-based programs are aligned with national standards and performance metrics that are documented to create behavior change.

Trocaire College of Buffalo and the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (APHERD) are BWI’s first affiliates. Both have access to all three certification courses, which feature pre- and post-tests as well as a learning management system to help access data of employee knowledge improvement.
Continuing education units have been approved by IACET, NYS-PT, National OT Board and BOC through Learning Partners, as well as the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
In addition to the online portal, affiliates may arrange for programs to be delivered through an onsite classroom setting.
