OpenStack Individual Member Director Elections Being Held This Week

The OpenStack® Foundation is conducting elections for Individual Directors of the Foundation’s Board.  This process is very important for the legitimacy of the Foundation and for the health of the project. These directors represent the voices and interests of the developers and contributors to the OpenStack project as a whole, and of the operators of OpenStack-based clouds.  The previous slate of Individual Directors served with distinction and continue to earn the respect that led to their previous seating.

Details of the process of the election, and links to all the standing candidates, are available at http://www.openstack.org/election/2013-board-election/.

As a platinum sponsor, HP encourages all registered electors to understand the voting process, carefully examine each of the standing candidates, and then vote for those who they trust will best represent the interests of the OpenStack project.

We look forward to working with newly seated and also returning incumbent Individual Directors as we all work towards our shared goal of creating “the ubiquitous open source cloud computing platform”.

We also encourage everyone who is interested in cloud computing to come investigate the OpenStack project.  If it interests you, join the Foundation, and participate with us in this vibrant and growing open source community.  And if you want to use a real operating OpenStack-based public cloud, we are running one at hpcloud.com, and we welcome your workload and feedback.
