OpenTable review

OpenTable is a neatly designed and intuitive application that eases reserving seats at a variety of restaurants. The large volume of details for each listing and fast performance are exceptional, but finding dining options may be difficult at times due to interface errors.

Pros

Easy to use: OpenTable does not feature a complicated design; rather, the main screen presents a large Google Map integrated with GPS location and an organized list of nearby restaurants. The filter options and limited number of buttons are well sized and located in plain sight.

Detailed information: Each restaurant comes with a full profile that offers general descriptions and policies as well as photos and menus. The built-in review feature works well, and we noted that the latest reviews were usually only a few days old.

Quick, helpful service: Upon making and canceling reservations, we instantly received confirmation emails that offered additional options such as transportation and social media sharing. The map tool was fast to bring up restaurant locations, and all listings loaded with ease.

Cons

Missing listings: We sometimes did not find the restaurants displayed on the Google Map when looking through the lists. This was not a common occurrence and may be localized to our testing area, so your experience may be error free.

Bottom Line

Reserving a time slots for restaurants is a clear-cut process with OpenTable. This application functions very well, and those needing on-the-go dining options will find it exceptional.
